Boating Safaris
Boating safaris are the aquatic equivalent of game drive safaris, and are offered in areas with water deep enough to accommodate motorized boats (e.g. the Okavango Delta and Zambezi River). Taking in the natural beauty of one's surroundings is an important element of a boating safari, and boats offer the best opportunities to see high profile aquatic species such as hippos and crocodiles (not to mention a plethora of striking bird species). It is also not at all uncommon to have high quality sightings of terrestrial animals (particularly elephants and buffalo) as they come to drink, especially as the dry season progresses and they become increasingly dependent on permanent sources of water.
