Highlights of Tanzania Safari

 

 

An exclusive safari for a maximum of 9 travelers who will visit Tanzania's three most wildlife-rich ecosystems by private plane. Covering Tarangire National Park, the Ngorongoro Crater, and the Serengeti National Park, the safari incorporates all "must see" destinations in northern Tanzania and includes a wide diversity of habitat types and an abundance of wildlife. Day 1 - Arusha Coffee Lodge

Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport you will met by a representative of our local partners and chauffeured to the Arusha Coffee Lodge.  The Lodge is located on one of Tanzania's largest coffee plantations, in the foothills of Mount Meru, and features just 30 stylish Plantation rooms and suites. The idyllic setting and plantation-style comforts make it the ideal haven for rest and relaxation before the excitement of safari. Enjoy dinner at the lodge's gourmet restaurant or all-day bistro.

 

Days 2 & 3 - Tarangire Treetops Lodge (Tarangire National Park)

 

After a leisurely breakfast, a short transfer to Arusha Airport brings you to your private plane (a Cessna Grand Caravan in Executive configuration), which will fly you to Kuro Airstrip inside Tarangire National Park. From the airstrip you will enjoy a game-drive transfer to Tarangire Treetops Lodge, where a traditional Maasai Boma Dinner awaits.

 

 

Tarangire is one of Tanzania's most beautiful and ecologically diverse Parks, featuring baobab forests, grasslands, rivers, and swamps. It is home to one of the highest concentrations of elephants in East Africa, abundant general game, and over 550 bird species. From July to October wildlife from across the Rift Valley and Maasai Steppe migrate to Tarangire in search of water, further supplementing the resident game population.

  

 

Treetops Lodge is located on a private Conservancy adjoining the National Park, offering all the wildlife of Tarangire without the tourists and restrictive Park rules - guests can enjoy day and night game-drives, walking safaris, and lavish bush breakfasts with the exclusivity of being on a private reserve. The lodge itself comprises 20 elevated "Treehouses", each with en suite facilities and private deck to take full advantage of Tarangire's scenic landscape. During your stay you will also enjoy a visit to a local Maasai village. 

   

Days 4 & 5 - The Manor at Ngorongoro (Ngorongoro Crater)

 

 

Enjoy your last morning game-drive in Tarangire, en route to the airstrip for your private flight to Manyara Airstrip. From Manyara you transfer by road to The Manor Ngorongoro, arriving in time for lunch. Relax and explore The Manor's beautiful grounds, or enjoy a coffee plantation tour, horse-riding, or a massage treatment. 

 

 

Start early on Day 5 for your game-drive into the Ngorongoro Crater, an area of spectacular beauty and an unrivalled concentration of wildlife. The caldera floor of this extinct volcano encompasses 64,000 acres of grassland, forest, and lakes (fresh and soda), and teems with game - the Crater is home to the "Big Five", as well as large herds of plains game and a wide array of mammal and bird species. Enjoy a picnic lunch in the Crater before returning to The Manor for relaxation and dinner.

 

 

Days 6 & 7 - Serengeti Pioneer Camp or Serengeti Migration Camp (Serengeti National Park)

 

After breakfast at the Manor you will enjoy a game-drive to your private plane at the Airstrip, which transfers you deep into the Serengeti National Park. Spend two nights exploring one of Africa's most iconic and wildlife-rich ecosystems, through morning and afternoon game-drives, as well as bush walks. Other highlights include sundowners in the bush, and dining under the stars.

 

  

From June to December, our base is Serengeti Migration Camp, located on the banks of the Grumeti River in the northern Serengeti. The camp is ideally situated in the path of the Great Migration as the vast herds move to and from their grazing grounds in June and November/December, and within striking distance of the Mara River, which is the focus of the Migration from July through October. Migration Camp comprises 20 sumptuous tented suites, each with wrap-around verandah to maximize views of the Serengeti.

 

From January to May Serengeti Pioneer Camp plays host, with its enviable location near the Moru Kopjes in the south-central Serengeti. This is the most game-rich and diverse region within the Serengeti, hosting the "Big Five" and a range of other species, and is also within striking distance of the "endless plains" of the south, where the herds of the Migration concentrate from January through March to calve (400,000 wildebeest are born within the space of a few weeks). Pioneer Camp comprises 12 stylish tented rooms, designed to maximize views and minimize environmental disturbance while providing all
necessary comforts.

 

Day 8 - Arusha and Departure

 

After breakfast at camp, transfer to the Airstrip, from where your private plane returns you to Arusha. Relax and freshen up at Arusha Coffee Lodge.  The safari ends with a transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport.
