Leopard Hills Private Game Reserve
Game-drive safaris at Leopard Hills are conducted in specially adapted open Landrovers, with professional guides and trackers to help find animals, and then provide interesting background information and facts about Africa's spectacular wildlife. Leopard Hills also offers night drives with spot lamps to view nocturnal species. Interpretive bush walks with your tracker provide even deeper and more 'hands-on' insight into the many intricate eco-systems of the African bush.
Leopard Hills Lodge is built on a rocky outcrop commanding a fine panorama over the lowveld bush. With only eight well-spaced and beautifully appointed suites, the atmosphere is exclusive and gracious. Each glass-fronted structure boasts a Victorian free-standing bath, spacious indoor and outdoor showers, and a rock plunge pool nestled into a private sundeck. Both the architecture and decor feature special innovative details - such as inlaid Marula pips, wooden graphics and paw prints pressed into the polished floors, animals expertly appliquéd on the edges of white cotton sheets, sculpted iron geckos crawling up the walls and Kudu horn light fixtures - which bring the spirit of the bush indoors.
Common areas include a cozy library, a glass-walled sala for spa treatments, and a well-stocked gym. Evening meals are taken in the elegant dining room, in the reed-enclosed boma complete with fire and flaming torches, or on the deck of the main lodge overlooking the illuminated waterhole. Expertly prepared venison is almost always featured, along with more traditional Western fare. Brunch is similarly special with mounds of fresh fruit and home baked muffins to compliment tasty omelettes and quiches.
At Leopard Hills the ambience is fun and informal, yet stylish and sophisticated. The game-viewing is of the absolute highest standard. It is a very special place, and we thoroughly recommend it to the discerning bush traveller. Conservation Dimension
