Sighting of the Quarter
5/30/2013
Guests at Vumbura Plains Camp, witnessed a very exciting and unusual kill unfold in February. A boomslang snake caught a large flap-necked chameleon. The chameleon put up a formidable fight - but eventually succumbed to the snake's haemotoxic venom. This however, was not the end of the challenge for the aboreal snake. The gluttonous reptile battled to swallow its ample prey and took approximately 45 minutes to satisfactorily consume its meal - as guests watched in amazement.
