Mombo Camp in the Okavango Delta, Botswana, has enhanced its in-camp guest experience with a new fire deck, the creation of a series of intimate dining pods, and a walk-in wine cellar. These new areas boast expansive views over the surrounding plains, and offer exciting options from which to enjoy Mombo's superb cuisine and wines.

The new Amber Villa, at Earth Lodge in the Sabi Sands, South Africa is ready and waiting.  The villa can accommodate a family of four in a master bedroom and a comfortable second bedroom (both en suite). Guests enjoy access to a private vehicle and guide, a gym with yoga spaces and a plunge pool. Cuisine is a highlight and the wine cellar boasts a collection of approximately 6,000 bottles. Private in-villa dining can be arranged.

Singita Private Game Reserves has also  announced the opening of a new luxurious exclusive-use villa, Singita Milele, in northern Tanzania in May 2024. The private villa is designed for a group of 10 and will be positioned on Sasakwa Hill overlooking the Serengeti. Children of all ages are welcomed. Stay tuned for details.

The Simba Family Tent at Hemingways Ol Seki Mara has been renamed the Simba Private Villa after a complete refurbishment. The Private Villa, encompassing two double en suite bedrooms, living and dining room, kitchen, and terrace with private plunge pool accommodates a maximum of four adults or two adults and three children, and includes a private chef, game drive vehicle and guide.

Tswalu in the Kalahari Reserve, South Africa, fuels diverse research projects via the Tswalu Foundation. The Artists in Residence initiative champions research while empowering artists to draw inspiration from Tswalu's wonders. Enriching Tswalu's dining with Northern Cape flair, Restaurant Klein JAN by Michelin-star chef Jan Hendrik van der Westhuizen, elevates the experience – showcasing an harmonious blend of art, conservation, and gastronomy.

Santorini Mozambique commands panoramic bay views from its private, elevated position. The Main Villa offers five sea-fronting, air-conditioned, en suite bedrooms, each with a private patio. The living space is comprised of a sitting area,  television room, ocean-facing deck with "martini pool", secluded patios, a wind-protected courtyard pool and dining spaces. There is a 38 foot Supercat Catamaran and a 27 foot fishing and leisure boat available for charter, along with a wide range of water sports, and a full service spa.

Situated in the unspoiled Ngala Private Game Reserve within the Timbavati Reserve, South Africa, Ngala Tented Camp is set to be re-imagined. The camp will retain its idyllic setting, nestled between the dense riverine forest and the sandy bed of the Timbavati River. Taking advantage of the camp's iconic river views, the guest area will undergo a complete transformation, increasing in size with an expanded deck, bar and fire pit, additional dining and sitting areas, plus a new outdoor boma to elevate the guest experience. All tents will increase in size, with redirected pathways for added privacy. Generous ensuite bathrooms will boast an indoor shower and al fresco bathtub. Camp interiors are set to capture a contemporary feel, combining Shangaan-inspired mid-century silhouettes with regional embroidery and textiles against the backdrop of granite and canvas.

Mnemba Island in Zanzibar, Tanzania, is also set to be transformed this year. All Guest Areas will be upgraded, the dive centers renovated, and a new Wellness Banda added, as well as the implementation of solar power throughout. Inspired by its spectacular beach setting, guests can expect barefoot luxury with intimate and relaxed island charm.

Busanga Bush Camp in the Kafue National Park, Zambia, recently completed a new viewing deck and pool. With its comfortable lounge areas, the pool is now the perfect spot to unwind after game drives or enjoy a relaxing massage from the camp's new on-site therapist.

At Entamanu, on the edge of the Ngorongoro Crater (Tanzania), beautiful spacious wooden cottages have replaced its tented rooms. All materials have been sourced locally and the interiors reflect flair and originality. The switch to wooden cottages enhances guest comfort and shelter from the wind, maximizing the lodge's incredible location advantages, high on the crater rim.
