Wild Eye – a Life in Photographs

Forty years in the making, Great Plains' Beverly Joubert presents the best images from her career (so far) across multiple African countries, covering many of her films with husband Dereck, including Eternal Enemies, The Last Lions, Reflections on Elephants, Eye of the Leopard, and many more, in a groundbreaking and beautiful book.

The story is broken down into chapters that follow the Joubert's journey from the awe they felt as they started their careers as young lion researchers in Savute, to the phase of greater meaning as they consider their legacy through action and initiatives, such as creating the Great Plains Foundation and moving myriad rhinos and elephants to safety.

Beverly's imagery is both exciting and evocative, as well as educational, as one is reminded of the distinction she makes between taking a still photo and making a moving image. Both styles tell the story of Africa, but more so, they tell a personal story of Africa as a visual journal of that journey.
