Cape Leopard Trust: The leopard population has suffered severe losses in South Africa's Cape and is now extinct in many areas of the province, as the species is regularly removed from farms with little knowledge of population or generic status. Bushmans Kloof's support of the Cape Leopard Trust has enabled the organization to acquire GPS collars with tracking devices, thereby supplying invaluable information about leopard ecology in this vulnerable area. The Trust is now also collaring and studying the Caracal, another endangered cat species in the western Cape.

Project Luangwa: Tafika, the creators and generous sponsors of Project Luangwa, offers an annual prize to the child achieving the highest accumulated exam results at the local school - and the 2011 winner is a girl! Girls in rural areas of Zambia are challenged to receive a good education as many families do not consider academics a priority for them. Despite the odds, Mercy Njobvu, who will be fourteen in July, won first place in the annual competition and has the choice of a new bike, a mobile phone or text books as a prize. Congratulations Mercy!
