Sighting of the Quarter

Guests and guides at Mara Plains Camp in the Maasai Mara, Kenya, were recently treated to an extra special sighting: a lioness moving her newborn cub. Lions are born blind and spend the first few weeks of their lives concealed in dens where they are less vulnerable to prowling predators. Catching a glimpse of the tiny youngster at this stage is a rare privilege. Click on picture for video.
