Cattle egrets and large mammals exhibit a type of symbiotic relationship called "commensalism?" The movement of foraging mammals, such as elephants and buffalo, dislodge various insects, which the pursing egrets feed on. The mammals, in turn, benefit from a reduction in the number of flies and other biting bugs that bother them.
