New Tanzania Entry Requirement

Per a new Travel Advisory, the government of Tanzania now requires that any international arrivals into the country show a negative PCR Covid test result, with the test having been administered no more than 72 hours prior to arrival in the country. Within 24 hours of arrival, travelers are required to complete an online Traveler Surveillance Form at: https://afyamsafiri.moh.go.tz/

Upon arrival, travelers will be tested again, via rapid antigen test, at a cost of $25 per person. While in the country, travelers are expected to conform to health protocols such as mask wearing and hand-sanitizing. Earlier language requiring arrivals from countries with Covid-19 variants to quarantine has been omitted. The requirements are part of new president Hassan’s measures to bring Tanzania’s pandemic response in line with other African nations, which have largely been very effective at managing the Coronavirus.
