No More Plastic

Following the success of Rwanda's initiative to ban plastic bags, Kenya has followed suit. Travelers may not bring any form of "disposable" plastic carry bags into the country, either in hand luggage, or checked baggage. In addition, duty-free purchases must be removed from their plastic carrying bags at the border.

Following this theme, &Beyond has introduced a bottling plant initiative –bottling purified water in recyclable glass bottles at its Kenya camps, Kichwa Tembo and Bateleur, thereby reducing its use of plastic drinking water bottles approximately 76,757 annually. The company aims to create bottling plants at 100% of its lodges by 2020 and reduce the number of plastic bottles it uses by 90%.
