Open Starbeds on Safari - Luxury Southern African SafarisWilderness Safaris Botswana now offers a range of “sleep-out” options to suit all travellers – from the Star Bed at Abu Camp overlooking the elephant boma, which includes a bathroom with shower and a queen-size bed with draped mosquito netting, to the simplicity of the sleeping platforms accommodating four to eight people on beds or comfortable bed rolls, with nearby ablution facilities, offered at Jao, Tubu Tree Camp, DumaTau, and Savuti. A similar experience is on offer at Kalahari Plains Camp, with a sleep-out area built onto the roof of each of the tented rooms. In Zimbabwe, a sleep-out deck is found at Ruckomechi Camp and Little Makalolo. Rooftop starbeds are an option at Little Kulala and Kulala Desert Lodge in Sossusvlei, Namibia. Please let us know if a night sleeping under the stars would appeal and we can reserve a star bed for you.

Sandibe Okavango Safari Lodge - Luxury Botswana Safaris&Beyond’s Sandibe Okavango Safari Lodge has been reinvented with an innovative design and focus on sustainability and efficiency. The new lodge uses organic shapes and materials to create the form of a giant pangolin, arguably the bush’s most elusive creature. Guest suites are raised above the papyrus like nests, peeking out from a canopy of wild palms and fig trees, featuring private plunge pools and spacious decks with two large day beds.

Luxury Zimbabwe Safaris - Photography Training at Baines River CampUnder the professional guidance of Roger & Pat de la Harpe, join fellow keen photographers at Baines’ River Camp for four nights and learn how to get the most out of your camera equipment, and your own creativity. Spend the days learning the finer points of capturing land and water-based shots in one of Africa's most untouched wilderness areas, and the evenings engaging in editing and theory discussions. Whether a novice or an advanced photographer, each participant will acquire fresh skills, great photographic memories and new friends. Two programs have been scheduled: 29 August – 2 September and 2 – 6 September, 2015.
