Sighting of the Quarter

It was an exciting month at Hoanib Skeleton Coast and staff based at the fledgling camp have sent through some incredible photos of elephants gathering in and around the waterhole. In addition, Dr. Flip Stander, the internationally acclaimed researcher, has reported some interesting lion developments in the area. The Terrace male moved into a conflict situation north of Purros where he killed several donkeys, making him unpopular with the local community. He escaped the conflict but moved straight into another when he entered the territory of two Hunkap males. After intense fighting the Hunkap males displaced Terrace male to the south, with injuries to his hind legs and the tuft of his tail missing. Dr. Stander monitored the lion closely but it seems that his injuries are inconsequential as he was soon photographed deftly catching a grown Oryx male.
