Great Plains Conservation (owners of Botswana’s Selinda Camp, Zarafa and Duba Plains) was thrilled to receive an award for “Most Life-Enriching Experience”at the inaugural and prestigious PURE Awards 2013 in November. The award is slated for “truly transformational, thought-provoking and perspective-shifting travel experiences that help the individual reconnect with both themselves and the world around them.”
Wilderness Safaris is delighted that Chitabe Camp and Chitabe Lediba (Botswana) have earned the highest grade of ecotourism certification from the Botswana Tourism Organization. Both camps received the highest rating for their light footprint and commitment to conservation and sustainable community empowerment. Also in Botswana Mombo Camp and Little Mombo have been listed on Condé Nast Traveller's 2014 "Gold List," featuring the world’s “Best Places to Stay.” The “Best in Authentic Travel” was awarded to Wilderness Safaris’ Desert Rhino Camp (Namibia) for its commitment to black rhino preservation and its strong partnership with the Save The Rhino Trust. Finally, ten of Wilderness Safaris’ guides throughout southern Africa have been featured on Condé Nast Traveller's "Top 25 Safari Guides" list.
Tongabezi Lodge has been named the overall winner for the Amadeus & WTM Travel Experience Awards’ “Adrenaline Junkies” category. The lodge offers its guests a range of exhilarating activities in spectacular surroundings, such as white water rafting down the Zambezi, micro light flights over Victoria Falls, riding on elephants, gorge swinging and bungee jumping.
