Ellerman House, Cape Town, has launched an initiative to become Cape Town's most eco-friendly boutique hotel. They will be reducing their carbon footprint by installing 1500 LED lights, 230 solar panels, 15 heat pumps and 8 worm farms.

In Zambia Tongabezi's Honeymoon and Bird Houses have just completed their facelifts, and Dog House is nearing completion. We hope to have photos to share in our next newsletter. A family room has been constructed at Kings Pool Camp in Botswana. The design features two wings with en suite bathrooms, large deck, and an inter-leading walkway.

The tents utilized at the Linyanti and Khwai Adventurer Camps on the Migration Routes Safari, Botswana, have been upgraded. The 13 ft. x 13 ft. Meru-style tents allow for clothes storage, plus a hammock and extended shade area at the entrance with comfortable safari chairs. Wooden beds are covered in cotton linen (with duvets) plus there are bedside tables with lamps. The en-suite bathroom, accessed via a zippered door at the back of the tent, has a short-drop loo and a serviced tin bucket shower - with hot water available upon request.

African Horseback Safaris, Botswana, has renovated Macatoo Camp by raising its eight newly enlarged en-suite safari tents on platforms overlooking floodplains, adding a tented "honeymoon suite" complete with a bathtub on a raised platform, and a "family and friends suite" consisting of two tents that are linked by a walkway. The barn has also been expanded to accommodate more horses!
