As always, we're delighted to share some of the incredible photos (and videos) submitted by recently returned Classic Africa clients (Click here for this quarter's gallery of the best).

We also wanted to share a delightful (and insightful) poem by Alice from Stonington CT, composed during her last safari in South Africa. Alice has a long-standing relationship with Africa, starting with Peace Corps service in Botswana.

My Africa

I love to be reminded that Africa does not change.

She accepts, but she does not conform.  She gives us permission, then ignores us all.

People tread on her and she shifts her sands imperceptibly. She covers up for them when they've gone.

Machines tear at her, but the scars are few (beyond her teeming cities)  She laughs them off and heals with song.

Her rivers rise and fall each year  Her skies catch fire twice each day.

Her animals consume and protect each other.  Couldn't we learn that same survival dance?

No matata…Africa endures.
