Marine Activities in the Cape Peninsula

4/13/2016

While summer is blazing in the United States, Capetonians are enjoying the crisp (and sometimes wild!) winter months. Beautiful clear days juxtaposed with powerful stormy weather make for atmospheric sights and experiences, and bring a special focus to the area's abundant marine life.

Cape Town is known as one of the best destinations worldwide to view aquatic species, whether from land, air or sea. The "ultimate" encounter involves the most fearsome of the ocean's predators – the great white shark. But visitors are also likely to see inquisitive seals, quirky African penguins, humpback and Bryde's whales, and enormous pods of dolphins as well as a staggering array of pelagic bird species.

Guests can also experience the thrill of viewing southern right whales and their young calves over the winter months, a sight not soon forgotten!

All of the marine activities outlined can be incorporated into a full day private Peninsula Tour. Please contact us for more information, or discuss your preferences with your guide.
