Wining and Dining in Namibia

4/1/2009

A new house wine list has been introduced at all Wilderness Namibia camps, and a wide selection of first-rate South African wines is now available. Guides and service staff have been receiving 'sommelier-type' training and wine tastings to enable them to offer advice and converse with guests on wine selection.

Luxury Namibia Safaris - Wine in Southern Africa

Did you know? that Namibia boasts the driest wine farm in the world - Neuras. It can be visited from any of the lodges in the Sossusvlei area. You can take in a tour of the vineyard and enjoy wine tastings and lunch (except during harvest season when your lodge will provide a picnic lunch).

Also noteworthy... It takes, on average, 600 grapes to produce a bottle of wine! Which makes wine production quite an accomplishment in one of the driest places on Earth.
