‘Tis the season for verdant landscapes and an abundance of baby animals! Congo’s Odzala Camps are no exception and have welcomed a baby Gorilla to the family. Last month matriarch Ceres gave birth to her third offspring since researchers began habituating the gorillas, and it has been interesting to note that human presence has not negatively impacted her parenting behavior. Ceres continues to be a loving, nurturing, and relaxed mother to her eldest daughter, Caliope, nine years old, her middle born (three and a half years old) and now the new baby. Researchers and camp staff are excited to watch the troop dynamics unfold with this new addition!
