Happy 21st Birthday AfriCat Foundation! Namibia’s Hanssen family is celebrating AfriCat's continued success as a conservation organization. The farming family discovered their passion first by seeking solutions to predator conflict on their small cattle farm in central Namibia, where they used scientific research to find ways to “live with the predators.” Eventually they became a safe-haven to a number of persecuted cheetah, leopard, caracal, spotted and brown hyaena as well as lion and wild dog that could not survive in the wild. These animals and their stories can be discovered at Okonjima.
