The First Zero-Emissions Safari Vehicle
8/4/2010
Renowned for its pioneering work in conservation development, Londolozi Game Reserve has introduced the first ever Zero-Emissions Safari Vehicle.
This fully functional electric Land Rover moves guests silently through the wilderness with a lower carbon footprint than the conventional game-drive vehicle. Its environmentally friendly batteries are charged via connection to a conventional wall socket. The next phase of the project will encourage the progression toward lighter, longer lasting, eco-friendly batteries. Londolozi is also exploring the possibility of installing solar panels on the garage roof to charge the electric vehicle.
The Zero-Emissions Safari Vehicle project is a successful part of Londolozi's long term goal to lower their carbon footprint without impacting the luxury safari experience.
