Short, sharp afternoon thunderstorms bring an end to the privations of the dry season, and herald a new season of growth and abundance.

 

 

 

 

Many species give birth at this time, to take advantage of the nutrient-rich vegetation, so babies abound (and predators thrive). Migrant birds return, adding to the color and vibrancy of the setting – the rich color palette, clear air, and crisp light make this probably the best time of the year for photography.
