Classic Africa's friend and multiple repeat traveler, Billie from Tennessee, had an extraordinary sighting on her last safari at Chitabe Camp. Even her guide had never seen a hippo roll over with all four feet in the air!
The adult hippo opened its jaws for a huge yawn and then rolled over for about 30 seconds with his feet and belly in the air, then completed the roll and his head rose slowly from the water. He was the only hippo in the pan and he seemed very relaxed and happy, reported Billie |
