All foreign citizens traveling to Mozambique must now obtain a visa in advance of arrival in the country from the U.S. Mozambican Embassy as they will no longer be able to be purchased from the border. The cost is currently $160.

No drones, please! Wilderness Safaris has prohibited the use of unmanned aerial and terrestrial vehicles for wildlife photography on their concessions in Botswana, Congo, Malawi, Namibia, South Africa, Zambia and Zimbabwe. For ecological (and myriad other reasons) we hope that fellow safari-camp operators will follow suit in banning the use of these distracting devices on their reserves.

We have been informed that the online visa application process for Zimbabwe via their website is proving problematic and visas should continue to be purchased at the border. Currently the cost is US$30 for a single entry Visa.

Revised gorilla welfare protocols coming into effect on 1 January 2015 will require guests travelling to Congo to carry with them doctor certified vaccination records or a "Certificate of Health" when embarking on the Odzala Safari.

Guests wishing to purchase curios from the Himba community while staying at Serra Cafema Camp in northern Namibia must use Namibian Dollars or South African Rand to do so. The equivalent of US$50 - 100 per person is generally sufficient and the currency can be obtained using your credit card or ATM card at Johannesburg, Cape Town or Windhoek Airports.
