Delta Resumes Direct Flights to Johannesburg on August 1st

Following hot on the heels of United’s new direct flight from Newark to Johannesburg, Delta just announced that they will resume their Atlanta to Johannesburg flight on August 1^st. The flight will be operated with an Airbus A350-900, one of the newest aircraft in the Delta fleet.

The outbound flight departs Atlanta at 7pm, arriving in Johannesburg at 4:30pm the next day. The return flight departs Johannesburg at 10:55pm and arrives in Atlanta at 9:15am the following day. This represents a route change from Delta’s original intention of flying back to Atlanta via Cape Town, which reduces the flying time on the return journey.
