United's Inaugural Newark to Johannesburg Flight

We’re very pleased to report that, after months of anticipation, United’s new non-stop flight from Newark to Johannesburg departed on time yesterday, June 3rd!

Special guests in attendance at the departure included Consul General of South Africa, Dr. Motumisi Tawana; President, South African Tourism North America Hub, Mr. Jerry Mpufane; and Manager, International Network Planning, United, Mr. Tom Kozlowski.

The flight is operated with Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft featuring 48 seats in United Polaris business class, 88 seats in United Economy Plus and 116 seats in United Economy. It departs Newark at 8:45pm and arrives in Johannesburg at 5:45pm the following day.
