Sausage Tree Camp in the Lower Zambezi Valley, Zambia, has a new swimming pool for cooling off from the mid-day summer sun. Sister property, Potato Bush Camp, has re-opened downstream. This exclusive camp consists of four spacious tents with en-suite bathrooms featuring twin showers, twin basins and a decadent claw bath tub. Private balconies, complete with hammocks and plunge pools, have been designed to allow panoramic views across the Zambezi River.

Also in Zambia, the Royal Livingstone Hotel, Victoria Falls, has been updated with sumptuous materials in a luxurious palette of neutral colors. Guest rooms have been completely refurbished, some adding peaceful retreats featuring daybeds, ceiling fans and sliding doors. The restaurant also boasts a renewed vibe incorporating an impressive fireplace, French doors and hand carved colonial-style dining chairs. The addition of a sunset deck under a giant Jackleberry Tree in the garden, overlooking the mighty Zambezi River, offers a convivial gathering place.

Le Quartier Francais, Franschoek, South Africa, recently gave its reception and pool areas a facelift. The hotel's renowned restaurant (The Tasting Room), a platform for Relais & Chateaux Grande Chef Margot Janse, has also been updated to amplify through design the essence of Margot's award-winning cuisine.
