Cape-Malay Cooking Experience

A special tour of the Cape-Malay culinary experience is offered in the Bo-Kaap region of Cape Town. Meet your guide at the Bo-Kaap museum for a unique insight into the origins and history of the Cape Malay culture. Across the street from the museum is a bustling spice market where you will learn about the pungent seasonings and how they are used in Cape Malay cuisine. Stroll along the cobbled streets, discovering the history of the various buildings en-route. Locals greet and interact with your guide, adding to the colorful nature of the day. Visit a Cape-Malay home where you will participate in the preparation of traditional dishes, such as samosas. Finally, sit down together to enjoy the feast and lively conversation!

New Restaurants to try in Cape Town include:

Sevruga: This new "sexy sister" to the well known Beluga in Green Point, opened at the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront in June 2008. The restaurant boasts superb outdoor seating on the quayside, as well as a warm wood-paneled interior.
