South Africa's Franschhoek wine estate, La Petite Ferme, has undergone refurbishments and upgrades following its change of ownership. The acclaimed La Petite Ferme restaurant now has a more modern appeal, with an upgraded menu and a new tapas and cocktail area in the garden. 

Kenya's Tortilis Camp has undergone a recent makeover that included reupholstering furniture, new umbrellas for the pool areas, and numerous soft refurbishments throughout all tents, including the addition of Egyptian cotton duvets. Governors' Camps have also been recently refreshed with soft furnishings, redesigned guest tents and new decking.

Asilia Africa, our outstanding in-country partners in East Africa, have introduced delicious picnic lunches for transfer days - fresh, light, healthy food packaged in biodegradable containers.  

Namiri Plains in Tanzania's Serengeti is field testing a new-style safari tent. The tent is light and spacious and will be furnished in typical Asilia-style, with a fully plumbed bathroom, indoor shower and covered veranda area. If successful in its test home at Namiri, the innovative tent will be used widely at Asilia properties. If you will be staying at Namiri Plains and would like to try the new tent, please let us know so that we can request it.

Botswana's iconic Mombo Camp now has a dedicated photographic vehicle, suitable for two guests only, which can be booked for an additional fee. Please advise if reserving this vehicle will be of interest to you. Also, all vehicles at Mombo and Kings Pool will now offer monopods for guests to use to rest/stabilize their cameras for that perfect shot!

In Zimbabwe's Hwange National Park, a pizza oven has been constructed at Linkwasha Camp - there is now significant "pizza rivalry" developing between Linkwasha and Little Makalolo with their al fresco pizza oven at Madison Pan!

Great Plains Conservation has introduced "Wild Studio" - an innovative format for learning photographic skills based around developing a personal wildlife photography portfolio. Three night workshops are offered year round at Selinda Camp and Duba Expedition Camp, Botswana; and soon, Mara Expedition Camp, Kenya.

A new Safari Suite will open at Chiawa Camp, Zambia, in June. Already under construction, it will boast a thatched roof, canvas walls with screen windows  a king bedroom, a lounge area which will convert easily and attractively into a second bedroom for families, an inter-leading bathroom with indoor shower, indoor loo, his & hers washbasins and bath - all with stunning views.
