Rats, Bats, Laughter and Tears in the South Luangwa, Zambia
10/25/2012
In June Kris Biddles arrived in Mfuwe to live in a rural Zambian village and teach English at a community school for six weeks as a Project Luangwa volunteer. A mother and teacher from the United States, this was only the second time that she had left America. Nothing could have prepared her for what she experienced: a whole roasted rat on a plate, bugs and bats, an invasion of dragon ants, a wedding, a funeral, and a lifetime's worth of love and laughter. Read Kris' story here. Visitors to Tafika can help the community school increase literacy by donating books from the Project Luangwa Amazon Wish List.
