Welgelegen is a charming guest house set in a tranquil, leafy cul-de-sac at the foot of Table Mountain, in the cosmopolitan city bowl neighborhood of Gardens, Cape Town. While secluded and serene, it is just around the corner from both Long and Kloof Street, the trendy restaurant "capital" of Cape Town. Thus it is in a perfect situation, “well-located”, as the Dutch name “Welgelegen” translates.

Welgelegen is comprised of two Victorian-era houses joined by a cobbled patio with a plunge pool, surrounded by fragrant roses and jasmine. Gentility abounds in both interior and exterior detailing. Creative attention to detail and comfort is ubiquitously reflected from the choice of artwork on the walls, to the mosaic fireplace, to the beaded chandeliers, to the sumptuousness of Welgelegen’s living room sofas.

All bedrooms are individually furnished with neutral tones accented by African and bohemian touches. Home-made biscuits, complimentary wine, huge inviting armchairs, comfortable beds with crisp white linen and soft silky cushions accentuate the luxurious ambience. Every room is uniquely decorated and most have balconies offering views of Table Mountain, Signal Hill or the patio below.

Candles, natural Rooibos bath products, and towelling dressing gowns in each bathroom pamper the weary traveler. An in-house treatment room provides additional pampering for the body, mind and soul.
