LAGOON LODGE

Lagoon Lodge is an exclusive guest house in Walvis Bay, on Namibia's Skeleton Coast. It enjoys a wonderful location, with great views across Walvis Bay's spectacular lagoon, home to huge flocks of flamingos, pelicans, and over 70 other species of sea-birds. The lagoon is also teeming with marine life, including Heaviside's and Bottlenose Dolphins and Cape Fur Seals. Walvis Bay is a very easy 20 mile drive from the charming town of Swakopmund.

The house itself is bright, cheerful, and very spacious. With only six rooms, wonderful personal service from French-born Hélène Meiller and her family is guaranteed. The interior decor of the house is an interesting fusion of African and European styles. Large windows throughout the house make the most of the house's direct views onto the lagoon.

All six bedrooms are very spacious and extremely comfortable, with all necessary amenities (including television and phone). They are all en suite, and each enjoys a wonderful view of the lagoon. Wake up in the morning to the unforgettable sight of huge flocks of pink flamingos wading through the shallows in search of brine shrimp. The area around Walvis Bay and Swakopmund offers a host of activities, any of which can be organized from the Lodge. Bicycles can also be loaned for exploring the shores of the lagoon.
