CEDARBERG PORTFOLIOThe Cedarberg range of mountains is a very scenic part of South Africa. Only three hours' drive north of Cape Town, the landscape is completely different, and the sense of remoteness quite exceptional. The big highlight of the Cedarberg is the wealth of rock-art left behind by southern Africa's original inhabitants, the San Bushmen. Lying at the transition point between two of South Africa's major biomes, the area is also home to some very interesting (and, in many cases, endemic) wildlife and flowers. The flowering of the desert fynbos every year around August and September is an experience not soon to be forgotten.
