Maximizing Your Airmiles

Mark W., a Classic Africa friend and client, alerted us to the Book Your Award Program - which may appeal to many of those seeking to use frequent flier miles to secure international tickets between the United States and Africa (or elsewhere). The traveler is asked which frequent flier programs they subscribe to, how many points/miles they have accrued with each, and where and when they wish to travel. The Book Your Award staff then creatively uses these points to find Business Class or First Class discounts and free tickets (they do not book economy). The program fee is $150 per person, plus any taxes/fees the airlines may charge. Mark reports that for a recent trip "they used my American Airlines miles from NYC to LAX (Business Class); then American Express points, converted to Delta Airlines miles, which were used to book Business Class flights from LAX to Brisbane (Australia) on Delta's partner, Virgin Australia."
